Scotland 2018 Travel Diary (Afterwards) Day 8

After this beautiful west coast route we hit the road the next day very early. It was a 2 hour drive to the Isle of Skye. The Talisker distillery was the first spot we wanted to see.

Since we hadn’t booked anything before the trip we highly believed that we wouldnt find anything to sleep on the island itself. (And again,  everybody told us because Skye is very popular).

After a great Talisker Whiskey Tasting (I obviously had just one since I was the driver) we went to an awesome seafood spot right up the hill. Oysters, Scallops, Lobster and Salmon. All caught locally. Incredible and cheap!

We hit the road to drive around Skye. Again one lane roads with just a few passing places is way more exhausting then a free Autobahn on a Sunday morning, I tell you!

Went to the northest point of Skye to this little castle. Since it was already getting late we thought we could try our luck and check for some B&Bs. After the second try we got a real jackpot. In the middle of nowhere there was this old lady having two rooms available since she doesn’t offer anything on Air BNB or bookings.com. Went for a little walk and straight to bed. Awesome day!

Paris Travel Diary Day 3

Went early to the city centre to visit Lafayette, Colette and a bunch of other stores. Had a little lunch at Chipotle and finally went to the Louvre. Last time I was in Paris I hadn’t the chance. Sad that 70% of the visitors are going straight to the Mona Lisa and leave. There is so much more to see. I was most exited to see a Hieronymus Bosch but unfortunately the area was under construction. Next time, right?

After 15km today we had to go back to the hotel and change to some sneakers!
Went to Pigalle afterwards to see the Hotel Amour by my favorite Artis Andre Saraiva and the famous Pigalle basketball court. The Sacre Coeur at night time was incredible! Some wine to finish the night as usual!

See you tomorrow!

Paris Travel Diary Day 1

Since we didn’t had a really big summer holiday. We decided to do another short trip before the year ends. And since Colette is closing. We thought Paris would be nice, haha!

So here we are. Cold but still the most beautiful city in the world!

Arrived around 2pm. Ate in a local farmers market and went some shopping afterwards.

Another meal and straight to bed. See you tomorrow!

Ulm – Basquiat and Beer

I’ve wanted to go to Ulm for a long time now! Finally had the time and our good friend Ben moved there some weeks ago. So we could also visit him. Thanks again for everything!

Visited the Hochschule für Gestaltung. If you don’t know anything about it, read this wiki article! Architecture by Max Bill and staff like Otl Aicher made this a very special place to learn everything about design, fonts, photography etc. Also the famous Ulm-Chair was designed right here. In 1968 the school/university closed but its legacy is still alive. Incredible place!

On our second day we went to the Weishaupt Gallery and the City Museum which also had a little HfG part which we wanted to see. As you can see the gallery had some rare rare pricey art. Incredible private collection which isn’t usual at all! Thanks Ulm! See you again!
